Party House of the Weekend

179 Heatherstone Road, Amherst

Amherst police responded to 179 Heatherstone Road twice within a half-hour late Friday night into early Saturday morning, the first time for a loud out-of-control party that generated a "nuisance house" ticket, and the second time for a report of a "missing laptop."

Thus, making for an expensive party.  A $300 civil infraction fine for violating the town's bylaw crafted to protect the peace and quiet of residential neighborhoods, and a laptop computer that is l-o-n-g gone.

I guess it's fortunate the semester has not yet started so no valuable school work was lost with the laptop ... Yeah, sarcasm.
Welcome Students! Well the vast majority of you anyway

They bring in a lot of money. We have to take the good with the bad. The University is doing what they can, but they can't do everything (I posted this under the "welcome student" entry actually).

That may have been a high school party. I'm not sure there is undergraduate rental housing in Echo Hill given the community association bylaws.

Could be. The person was not arrested, only given a ticket, so no date of birth was recorded.

But if I had to guess, I would say the community association bylaws are probably not all that strictly enforced.

As an Echo Hill resident, I expect the bylaws to be enforced strictly enough to keep undergraduate student rental housing out of our neighborhood.
