Thank You!

American Legion Post 148 & Amherst VFW Post 754 Color Guard

About 50 people braved the lousy weather to congregate on the historic Amherst North Town Common this morning to honor all the men and women who have served our country over the past 239 years.

Select Board member Andy Steinberg assisted by Chair Alisa Brewer thanks veterans on behalf of the town

And when all is said and done, while the 25 minute ceremony was a nice gesture, all that's really needed is a simple, but heartfelt, "Thank You."

Veterans Day 2013.  Two good men no longer with us:  Arthur Quinton and John Musante

God bless you veterans. Thank you for your service. We probably wouldn't have a country if not for you.

Many thanks to all our veterans. And to our officials for taking the time to acknowledge and honor their service.

Here's to the Army and Navy and the battles they have won. Here's to America's colors; the colors that never run.

The Marines, the Coast Guard, the Merchant Marines., the Air Force too ! Are there others we've forgotten to mention?

Bring the boys (and girls) home. No more disabled vets wasting lives and time not keeping us free.

Lemme guess: Joseph still thinks the number one threat facing the world is climate change.

What about helping to liberate the oppressed? John Q. Adams "wisely said, "VWherever the standard of freedom and Independence has been or shall be unfurled, there will her heart, her benedictions and her prayers be. But she goes not abroad, in search of monsters to destroy. She is the well-wisher to the freedom and independence of all. She is the champion and vindicator only of her own."

That is a sane policy. However, if you disagree, I'm sure a recruiter would love to let you have at it.

As to Islamic terrorism, that is an immigration problem. If we don't let the world in, the jihadis among them can't bother us.

ISIS last I checked had no navy or air force thus can only get here if we let them. If we pursue a neutral foreign policy after shutting the door, they can kill each other.

The ad hominem is a tactic of buffoonery.

I think you're over-using the word buffoon. There's nothing buffonish -oops- about what's going on in the world.

If there were an Olympic competition for non sequiturs, Anonymous would win the gold.
