Party Apartment of the Weekend

Let's hope these three young men learn to listen to Amherst police the way they probably do their football coach.

In Eastern Hampshire District Court yesterday all three took the standard diversion deal offered by the District Attorney's office:  Pay the $300 town noise bylaw fine and stay out of trouble for the rest of the semester.

The 4th individual on the list had charges dropped because his name was not on the lease as a resident of the apartment.

All seven arrests by APD over the long weekend involved alcohol and most of them were UMass students.  UMPD, by contrast, had zero arrests.

Sorry, where does it states they play football?

I believe the Gazette mentioned it.

And if you can't trust the Gazette who can you trust?

Didn't see the article anywhere. Either reference it or I'll assume you just make a racist remark.

Pretty quick to play that card.

Well, then cite the article. I just think you made an assumption here. So, simply cite it.

Gazette article as well as Collegian mention that 3 are on the football roster at Umass.

Um, football is not a race, it's a disease. Hee, hee!

The actual racism is that these four won't face the sanctions that White UM students would.

Enku, we both know that this is true....

Throw the book at the bums. It will interesting to see if the coach takes any
action on this one.

Oooo. That hoits.

Be interesting to see the result. If it's anything like the racist disciplinary non-policy in our schools...

The assumption of racism by you is what bothers me.

So they had a party. Big deal. Nobody got hurt. Seems ridiculous to arrest them for it, should be a civil infraction and a ticket.

Very tired of living in a police state and it is only getting worse.

BTW white homeowner here, 30 year and current Amherst resident. People need to lighten up.

"These gentlemen puke-ups..."

Huh? These are just young people that had a loud party. What's your problem?

Anonymous said...

PEROGATIVE? Puke-up thing? Savy? Ignorant or just a poor typist?

Anonymous said...

What are the police supposed to do? Ignore a complaint?

Anonymous said...

Bust up the party and send everybody home. Done.

Anonymous said...

Yahoos? Really. Gotta call names?

Of course the real story is the shakeup in the UM School of Education -- which is tied to the Amherst schools in many ways...

WHERE CAN WE LEARN MORE ABOUT THIS "SHAKEUP"?
