So a fire in one of Amherst's tallest building not on the UMass campus, with a higher than average ratio of elderly and disabled residents, gets zero response from my Twitter friends, but then three hours later a throw away tweet about a 65-year-old woman in North Amherst needing an ambulance due to pot consumption lights up the Twittersphere (or at least my tiny portion of it).

How can you have a bad pot reaction? No munchies in the house?
It's really not all that unusual.
I have heard a half-dozen or so over the past year.
But then I hear a dozen or more alcohol OD runs EVERY weekend, so no comparison whatsoever.
Y'all need to remember that us old folks in our 60s now grew up in the 60s. We were the hippies of that era. And we smoked a lot of pot in our day and some of us still enjoy it today. Though in a more moderate fashion. I know it's hard to resist the temptation to snicker at this report but we who are in our 60s are also wondering how we got to this age so fast. Grab onto life with a vengeance. It goes by much faster than you ever think it will.
I believe the cause was related to a space heater.
It is possible to be so high ur not sure if u need to go to the ER. The answer is this: instead of that, smoke some more.
How did Ann Whalen Apartments ever get built with Town Meeting standing in the way?
The problem is lack of master bedrooms with en-suite baths in these apartments. It attracts a bad demographic. These tiny apartments will never appeal to anyone but students a/k/a pot smokers no matter what their age.
If the apartments had been configured with living rooms and bedrooms, they would have been attacked by the usual suspects in town as available only for the bourgeois, the upper middle-class, the beautiful people.
This is not about getting to an appropriate outcome. This is attack, attack, attack.
