Party "house" of the weekend

Salem Place unit #11

According to APD narrative: "Approximately 50 people cleared from residence. Two residents identified and issued Town Bylaw Noise citations. Citations were issued in hand and explained in full. Both residents declined to sign the citations."

Cha-ching: That will be $600!

Okay, so it's a condo and not exactly a house; but like most winners in this category, it is not owner occupied.

Larry, sooner or later, critical mass. Just remember that, critical mass.

If you really claim to support the APD, you wouldn't be doing this, you would be trying to build bridges with the UM students.

The concept of "community policing" came from officers themselves who (a) wanted to do their jobs, (b) wanted to make a difference and (c) wanted to go home at night -- ie be safer. And they realized that when they were in an "us versus them" situation -- such as a minority ghetto -- if they had the support of a significant portion of the "them", they benefited.

And read the reports on the shootings at Jackson & Kent state -- chaired by a retired USAF general and commissioned by Nixon, these weren't long-haired dirty hippies writing the report. yet they blamed the underlying 'us them" issues for what happened.

Critical mass...

Ed, do you have mental problems?

Ed,

You spend way to much time on this blog.

Um, I don't think UMass students are reaching the boiling point because of Larry's party house reports on a blog.

I understand that only about a third of these $300 citations are actually paid. They're paper tigers.

So far. These $300 tickets only started being issued in September. These things take time.

I say they either pay the fine or it gets tacked onto the landlords tax bill and they can worry about how to get it out of their tenants.
