Box of coffee, munchkins, a bike and a table? Hell, he might even be getting a action from the broad.

Yeah, I believe that was one reason the town is closing it--not having separate but equal accommodations for women.

Amherst set to shut warming center
Monday, March 22, 2010
By DIANE LEDERMAN
AMHERST - Facing numerous code issues that can't be resolved, the town is closing its first-ever warming center today, earlier than the April 30 closing date initially planned.

Specifically, what codes apply for a "warming center" that operates 10PM - 7AM in the winter?

Notice the Republican refers to them as "code issues" which implies the force of law, and Shaffer calls them "challenges" which isn't the same at all. So what are they "code" or "challenges"?

These challenges include the inability of the facility to allow [1] separate sleeping quarters for men, women and families, [2] showering and bathing facilities and adequate [3] accommodations to feed the program participants.

Is it true that you must separate genders and families before they may sleep also, provide showers and finally, feed them?

Every time Shaffer makes a statement in the paper, I feel less informed about the facts than before.

Looks like the typical Amherst female to me.

It was due to code, and the bulletin did a great story on it earlier this month. It was only meant to be a place to get out of the cold, not a sleeping or "cot" shelter. Its getting warmer, if they want to have a place ready for next winter they have plenty of time.
