Lesson learned?

So when I saw the other day that the illustrious Amherst Select Board would be voting on a street closing for Lincoln Avenue to celebrate a safe Halloween block party, I was wondering if the recent disastrous "experiment" to close off that same street to through traffic (mainly to and from economic Juggernaut UMass) would come up or not. It did.

(You can tell Princess Stephanie used to be a PR flack.)

Who requested the street closing?

Phil Jackson is the front man.

But I'm sure they have a neighborhood association of some sort that makes theses requests.

C'mon let's hear from the usual mow everyone down contingent.

Sorry, that' a tad too Twitter-like for me. What the Hell are you talking about?

And if it has to do with car/people accidents on Lincoln Avenue, can you give us an example?

Phil Jackson works for the town?

No, but he's in Town Meeting and recently appointed to the Finance Committee.

Let's close East Pleasant Street too for Hallowe'en!

I have to wonder how much bigger a mess the town police would have had at 1:30 Sunday morning had they not been able to drive down Lincoln Avenue themselves.

Just gotta ask. And no, you didn't hear about the riot, did you?
