On average 2 out of 3 people will be involved in drunk driving crash in their lifetime. Yikes!
Since veteran drinkers refer to New Year's Eve as "amateur night" I was a little surprised but overly pleased Amherst police only arrested one driver for being impaired over the long weekend.
And with a chemical breath test almost twice the legal limit he was most certainly impaired, and driving in a busy part of town at a time when many innocent citizens would be going about their business.

Thank's for making the point of 2 of 3 driver's involved with DWI crashes...must be the holiday blues hangovers..the Alcoholics Anonymous denier's have been trolling up a storm this week..funny Thing-only the alchy's feel "entitled" to an opinion about those..they prey on....Soooooo self absorbed...the piss lifestyle mental illness mentality at play...aka social disease !???$&@$$

Shocked as well there was only 1 arrest. But that's great news for bystanders. There does seem to be a downward trend in Amherst for DWI arrests (or I'm still on the holiday natural high/vacation).
Now if we could only move on from the mega-school shadow/threat and figure out the next steps while also giving residents a real understanding on WHY are property taxes are so stinking high....
