History should always note and long remember...

As we prepare for this most memorable of solemn holidays to honor those who gave their "last measure of devotion" keeping us free--perhaps it is time we consider imbuing another day with this ritualistic reinforcement designed to make Americans momentarily pause and, hopefully, to remember.

Especially since the state is considering eliminating two hack holidays for some state employees--Evacuation Day and Bunker Hill Day.

How about remembering that stunning morning.

Yes perhaps for any of us alive of an age old enough to understand rudimentary communication, 9/11 is forever seared into memory; a combination of shock, horror or perhaps guilt over feeling relieved it was not you or a loved one aboard those airplanes or trapped in those burning buildings.

But time creeps forward, so someday 9/11 will be a distant memory. We pause now to remember all those who perished for their country over our entire history. A hundred years hence none of us will be around to remember.

Hopefully we will have passed it down to our children and told them to pass it down to their children the awful damage inflicted that otherwise gorgeous Tuesday morning in America.

Declaring 9/11 a national holiday will go a long way to ensure that. And what better state to start than Massachusetts, where half the four planes--the two that created the most carnage--debarked from?

yes, let's make a holiday of a tragedy facilitated by our own govt's false flag operation to lead us into loss of rights and a never ending "war" on terror.

wake up larry. you are in serious denial. you will probably just brush this link off, and poopoo all of the firefighters, architects and engineers. in doing so you become the enemy of our freedoms. watch the video and learn mr reporter.

So it took you less than an hour from my post to your nutty propaganda.

Figures...On a beautiful Sunday morning the day before Memorial Day, you have nothing better to do than champion your warped views of our Government which is inseparable from our Country that so very many have died defending.

SO PREDICTABLE LARRY, WAKE UP!

December 7 is not a holiday.

Remember, yes, but time to move on.

Pearl Harbor was a military target hit by a uniformed military with about 95% of the casualties military.

9/11 saw civilian airlines used as missiles by fanatics not in uniform with about 95% of the casualties civilian.

BIG DIFFERENCE.

Could you and the other Nitwit please stop wasting my bandwidth?

Anonymous said...

you have said in the past that bandwidth is not an issue. so which is it?

"An astounding video shows the BBC reporting on the collapse of Salomon building (WTC Building 7) over twenty minutes before it actually fell at 5:20pm on the afternoon of 9/11. The incredible footage shows a BBC reporter talking about the collapse of the WTC#7 while it remains standing in the live shot behind her head. The BBC reported that it came down 23 minutes before it actually did! The transmission conveniently gets cut moments before the building does "collapse". This video demonstrates that there were people in the know about the controlled demolition that was to take place and the story was leaked early."

link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-tGOt9f3gKk

how do explain this....foreknowledge of a building collapsing....indicates inside knowledge.

this is only one of the many mistakes the conspirators made that day, you have to take the time to look into it. when you do, you see that it is not a bunch of hippy freaks spouting garbage, but a well-informed, respectable contingent of down to earth citizens.

larry, besides popular mechanics and the 911 commission report, please give us some solid information it was not an inside job, write an essay for your class, do the research and open your eyes.

btw, they knew about pearl harbor in advance, do the research.

Blogger is indeed free--feel free to start your own.

But still they measure your usage (photos, video, and Comments all take up a bit) and at the moment I've used up almost half my free allotment.

Actually, it's my patience you have used up completely.

Larry, you may as well let them blather on... folks in Amherst don't care about truth or life anyway...

I think a building falling down is not unlike a ship sinking -- at some point you know that she is going to go down, that there is no hope, and then it is only a matter of waiting.

So the BBC reported that the building came down before it actually did - so what. If it is not structurally sound and is in the process of collapsing, that doesn't mean it had help falling down...

how do you guys live with yourself?

ed, did you watch the video, she wasn't saying it looks like it has weakened and it is going to fall, she said IT HAS COLLAPSED. was she psychic, and knew it was just about to fall?

WAKE UP!

Conspiracy theories are generally the result of a failure to understand both complexity and simplicity. To believe in conspiracies is perversely empowering (access to secret truths, for example). In the case of some conspiracy theories (Kennedy, King), people don't want to believe that seemingly random chance allowed a complete nonentity to murder a great man and change history. In the case of 9-11 "Troofers," well, it's just hard to see what is so hard to grasp.

For all those who are not dyed-in-the-wool, foil-hat-wearing Troofers, this program (which ran tonight and will be repeated in a week)answers any potential doubts:

http://channel.nationalgeographic.com/episode/9-11-science-and-conspiracy-4067/Overview

In any case, I would hope that (1) we would all mourn the 9-11 dead; (2) we can keep our thoughts focused on the Memorial Day holiday and its meaning rather than turning it into a vehicle for a political catfight.

I was very moved by the sight of the marble tablets listing the names of those residents who fought to preserve the Union and end slavery when I visited the restoration crew's workspace this week. I am glad that these tributes to our citizens are (thanks to Town Meeting's CPA appropriations) being conserved so that they can once again be publicly displayed.

Rick Hood said...

Amen to that.

Anonymous said...

citizen......first thing you should do is turn off the tv

then:
explain the thermite and thermate
explain the explosions in the base of the buildings, which many firefighters have verified
explain why building 7 fell at freefall speed into its own footprint
i could go on, but that would be unpatriotic now wouldn't it? seeking the truth.

When I was a kid, I remember Tonkin Gulf. It has now come out as a set up that our government perpetrated. Conspiracy theories cannot be dismissed out of hand just because a few people go tsk tsk.

As to remembering 911, I'm all for it. Remember that it led us into two wars that have no purpose and have aided in our collapse.

Let's remember the chickenhawks who cheerlead and never went.

Please tell me what is to win in Iraq and Afghanistan? OBL did not attack us with a carrier fleet. The thing to do was tighten the borders, not send an army to not catch the bogeyman.

Anonymous said...

God bless all those who fought and died to protect our great country. It is unfortunate that so many honerable soldiers have been misled to die in a war of lies created to catch cave dwellers that don't exist. (-11 was a false flag Pearl Harbor to advance the US agenda of a pipeline in Afghanistan and a permanent base in oil rich Iraq. The great thing about a war on terror is that it can never be won, and must go on forever. God Bless America, and vote out ALL INCUMBENTS on election day.

I believe all of this has been explained by NIST.

http://wtc.nist.gov/NCSTAR1/

Oh right, those scientists can't be trusted, they probably told the government where to put the explosives....

Anonymous said...

"NIST has become party to the 9/11 cover-up, falsifying information, cooking the data, and otherwise acting in disregard to the ethics of science it is supposed to not only uphold but epitomize as the official body for the United States establishing standards of measurement. NIST is supposed to be the final word on measurement accuracy, but in the case of 9/11, they have prostituted themselves at the hands of their Federal masters who are likewise involved in the cover-up. They have thus become another tool in helping to establish a world socialist dictatorship under the control of a sinister, insider elite.

On Aug. 2008, NIST published their findings that the World Trade Center buildings came down "due to fire alone."

Contrary to the Federal Government official story supported by the NIST report, many facts point to controlled demolition being the cause of the collapse of the World Trade Center buildings 1, 2 and 7:

Falling at near free-fall speed
Falling into their footprint
Symmetrical "collapse" through path of greatest resistance
Pulverization of the building into powder
Massive volume of expanding pyroclastic dust clouds
Squibs (horizontal, outward explosions) seen in advance of the collapsing portion
Many explosions heard by emergency personnel on the scene
Thermite and nanothermite found in the dust
The occurrence of micro-spheres in the dust, which could only happen under super high temperatures (from thermitic reactions), not consistent with a building fire fire
Several tons of molten metal reported by numerous highly-qualified witnesses
Liquid iron in the wreckage a month after the collapse (from continued thermite reaction)
The fact that never before had a fire caused a steel structure building to fail
The fact that the buildings had recently undergone elevator upgrades, giving access to the support structure
The fact that the building had an emergency evacuation just a few days prior to 9/11 in which security cameras were disabled (providing access)
The owner of WTC building 7 (Larry Silverstein) videotaped saying that they "pulled" (demolished) the building
Cover-up galore by those who were capable of pulling this off
None of the characteristics of destruction by fire were present:

Slow onset with large visible deformations
Asymmetrical collapse which follows the path of least resistance (laws of conservation of momentum would cause a falling, to the side most damaged by the fires)
Evidence of fire temperatures capable of softening steel "

To all of the chicken hawks reading Larry, including Larry:

I've never understood people like you, who feel so strongly that it's America's right to make war where ever it wants. Why don't you go to war yourselves?

What gives? Are you cowards?

Why wouldn't you go fight for your country in every battle it is waging around the world?

Oh, you're good at telling others to get the fck out of Amherst, but why don't you just shut the fck up and enlist?

I know why. We all know.

There are plenty of brave men and women obeying orders today. I support our troops but not these wars.

You are afraid and you take your fear out on those who disagree with you. If you weren't afraid to die in combat, you would be putting your money where your mouth is.

None of Bush's chicken hawks have ever been in combat, but they would damn well send your kid there in a heart beat, just as you would send mine.

Go head and hide behind whatever 12year old insult you can remember from junior high.

I spoke with a guy last night whose son is in combat in Iraq, today, yesterday and tomorrow. Is America paying attention? Is this even a news story in America? No, because America is at the mall. The soldiers we sent to Iraq without even the necessary armor are still firing their weapons everyday, and being shot at and killed.

Oh, you'll make a big deal out of war when it works for you but why aren't you over there? Why isn't America being shown this war every day on tv? Why did our government deliberately outlaw showing us this war, the dead, the horror? Why isn't the draft in effect? Because we don't want our sons and daughters to go to war. We want the poor's sons and daughters to do the dirty work, just like they always have.

No, you don't see me in combat, but you also don't hear me carrying on about how great America is in committing war on Iraq, Grenada, Panama and Vietnam.

See, I believe our govt is capabale of making mistakes, big fcking mistakes.

Larry Kelley said...

Kind of ironic for a Cowardly Anon Nitwit to rail against "chicken hawks" when you don't have the balls to leave your real name.

And I'm sure, like a teeny tiny mouse, that if cornered a chicken hawk would probably put up a Hell of a (final) fight.

As opposed to Cowardly Anon Nitwits.

Still waiting.

What is there to win in Afghan or Iraq?

If there is nothing to win, The US loses, even if there was someone from whom we could take the surrender.

The war is as much of a waste of our tax dollars as the Deathstar at Umass.

Richard Morchoe said...

Actually, it is one hell of a bigger waste, but I was speaking metaphorically.
