  1. Gotta love capitolism.

Only in such a system would there be farm stands like this.

  2. Indeed.

And they reduce their overhead by having a drop box instead of a minimum wage employee (higher in Mass than the rest of the country) and all those other associated tax costs of a live person (unemployment insurance, workmens comp, etc)

  3. I know it's corny but it's called capitalism. I'm not sure what capitolism would be. Nice photo.

  6. Larry - you want a tip -- if the Obama campaign really was going to pay for those campaign independent study credits, that is a national scandal....

  7. Aw, my family just loves that little house. For years my folks joked that they are going to move into it to live closer to us.

  8. I love that little house too. When I started my job 17 years ago, it still looked habitable. Now my kids joke that it is Old Man Jenkin's great, great, great, great, great, great grandfather's house (you've got to watch Spongebob Squarepants to get the joke).

  9. The farmer pulled in behind me as I was taking the photo and said he would be tearing it down soon.

  10. Keenan: Amherst College's Marx won't meet with him
    By scott merzbach

AMHERST - A candidate for Select Board says he is frustrated that the president of Amherst College is unwilling to meet with him to discuss how the college and town can cooperate.

David Keenan, one of four candidates whose name will appear on the Nov. 4 ballot, said he is disappointed President Tony Marx refused his offer for a meeting.

Keenan probably ought to get himself elected to the Select Board before he goes around complaining about having meeting invitations declined.

Thanks Dave for giving us today's lesson in polital granstanding. Nice job putting yourself ahead of the town.

  12. At least Keenan had a great idea. Too bad Shaffer did not do that.

About that house, in the picture, I really think that they should leave it there, cause by the time this Town Government gets done, we all may be bidding in it.
