  1. Thank you Larry, for these beautiful photo's and for your tireless effort bringing the Town to a sensible and patriotic position on flying the American flag. Amherst has rarely looked better or more upright than it does this morning. With you in spirit,

  3. Fitting, that after many weeks of drought, God chooses to cry this morning. Salutations to our great heroes. May they all rest in peace.

    The American flags look beautiful!

  4. Glad that Amherst is pulling together. Maybe a welcome respite from School Board fractiousness.

Can't tell from the photo's, but did the Select Board formally gather? They used to do this at the downtown fire station. Were they at North Amherst?

  5. 12-7-1941 -- 12-7-1955, we had defeated the foe and rebuilt her as a Christian nation.

Compare that ti what we are doing now....

  6. My point is that we;d nuked Japan less than 4 years later.

Why haven't we been able to defeat 5th Century Barbarians?

  8. Simple 619pm: ROE. If we fought in WWII and Korea as we do now...the results would have been different.

  10. I find it more satisfying to honor the 10th. It is the day before we ruined our country in reaction to the 11th. In retrospect Osama got exactly what he wanted, it sucks, and the worst part about it was he knew us better than we did. He knew we were willing to give up everything we stood for in reaction to one event that killed a few thousand people. The loss of these individuals is great, but pales in comparison to what we have now done to oursleves, our economy, our super sized government in over reaction. Cool the flags are up, but there are bigger fish to fry.

  11. Thank you for understanding that those flags now represent you right to get permission from whoever is in charge.

  12. Funny how 'uncomfortable' so many in Amherst are with the American Flag. What a bunch of misguided jerks. They're privately seething that they have to face the flag out there, in public - heck, even at the supermarket!

America: Love it or leave it, lefties!

  14. Yeah August (always my slowest month for views) was the lowest monthly output for articles in my almost ten year history.

But, peaking at 140,000 views, the second highest month in readership in my entire history.

    Go figure.

  15. Never forget how we over reacted and made America worse.

I remember my mom getting pulled over in the winter of 2001 and questioned about why she did not have a flag sticker on her car.

Promptly forget how Osama got his way, I mean deny.
