With a reference like that

Since it was a forgone conclusion assistant town manager John Musante would ascend to permanent town manager to replace the suddenly departing Larry Shaffer, I figured why bother weighing in with an opinion even though I was recruited at the last minute to donate my analysis for Localocracy

The Select Board public "discussion" contained this hidden gem: a former Select Board Czar who moved to another nearby town but wanted to maintain her Amherst elected position and lied in a letter/statement published in the Amherst Bulletin about the status of her Homestead Declaration (positive proof she was no longer fit to serve in Amherst) took the time to write a recommendation for Musante.

I'm not sure what is more frightening: Our new town manager being heartily endorsed by the likes of her, or that Princess Stephanie "considers it to be a very important letter."

  1. Yeah, I'm now wondering if that is the source for Princess Stephanie changing her mind about flying the American flags on 9/11 every year.

  2. "I'm now wondering" translates to "I have no evidence and have done no fact-finding, but I'll pull something unrelated out of thin air with a sideways accusation."

Talk about making a leap in illogic. She read a letter from a former selectboard member. That is not evidence of being controlled by someone else.

  3. Now, now there Cowardly Anon Nitwit don't go putting words in my mouth.

Never said our current Chair was being "controlled by" former Czar Awad.

After all Princess Stephanie, THANKFULLY, eviscerated Gerry Weiss to take over the coveted Select Board position, so I doubt she would allow a former has been no longer living in town to tell her anything.

The evidence I have is simply that Stephanie voted in favor of flying the flags every 9/11 on the floor of Town Meeting three years ago (as did Alisa Brewer) and then last week changed her vote (as did NOT Alisa Brewer.)

  4. What you're overlooking Larry, is that Stephanie's MO is to honor process. There was a process in place (initiated by you) for voting for flags or no flags. The result of that vote was no flags. Stephanie accepted the vote, despite disagreeing with it. Something you could learn from. Mr. Weiss initiated what you yourself have referred to as an idiotic compromise. Stephanie moved to amend that compromise to be more fitting with more conventional (than every three years) commemoration practices (only because YOU gave her the opportunity by insisting on reopening the process). That's all that's going on here despite the smoke and mirrors you're trying to project. What we have now is just a less idiotic compromise position on flag flying. But that certainly won't prevent you from crying foul or searching for evil, underhanded conspiratorial motives.

  5. I find it idiotic to fly the flags for Patriots Day or Flag Day but not on 9/11.

I find it idiotic to fly them on somber, sad occasions like Memorial Day or Veterans Day but not on 9/11.

I find it idiotic to think that 9/11 is only worth remembering every 5 years.

And I find most Cowardly Anon Nitwits to be, well, idiotic.
