Does anyone know if the State Police have re-opened Route 202 north to Route 2 yet?
Or a seven digit number one can call to find out?
UMass sent out a notice from the MSP that it would be closed "until further notice" and likely for 48 hours yesterday - and both 211 and 511 are blocked from all UM phones.
I got the (I think public) number of the Hamp MSP barracks from a back channel source.
Everything about 1000 feet is rather nasty, above 1200 looks like a war zone (and the 150 foot pines at 1050 feet, well guess what fell).
There were two very clear lines of freezing weather and they were almost stagnant straight lines. This is not the sort of thing that bodes well for this winter, which hasn't even started yet.

From the Mass Highway website;
ReplyDelete"How do I access 511?
* Cell Phone - Call 511
* Land Line - Call 617-374-1234"
Maybe the 617 number will work for you?
My other suggestion - call Athol or Orange PD on the non-emergency line, they should know the conditions in the area.
Thanks.
