What a difference


A Billion dollars makes. Picture above is Amherst College's ($1 billion in reserves) new athletic fields.

Now take a look at the town of Amherst ($4 million in reserves) new recreation fields on Potwine Lane in South Amherst. Yikes!

    Yeah, His Lordship Gerry Weiss (who lives nearby) noticed during his daily walks that the grass looked like crap (or I should say crabgrass).

    I'm also fairly certain that Amherst college started their renovation field work way after the town started theirs...yet another advantage of unlimited funding.
