Larry just hates that the town wasted money buying a parcel so no one would develop on it. And he notes the money it takes to keep that parcel going when it could be tax revenue to pay for the overblown school system which is the number one sucker of tax revenue in Amherst.Walter Graffnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5035949355013113578.post-19358483991939914682014-07-22T15:42:48.769-04:002014-07-22T15:42:48.769-04:00Um, no. Completely different demographic.

When the town first bought it in 1987 (with my first critical Letter to the Editor a week later) I only had a karate school.

The Health Club came a few years later. But still a different demographic.

The flags wouldn't cost a dime to put up on 9/11 as I have volunteered to do it myself.

And even if it did cost a tiny bit in extra wear and tear, the price to show respect should always be paid.Larry Kelleyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02614645831526190536noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5035949355013113578.post-44011798925231997552014-07-22T15:22:43.712-04:002014-07-22T15:22:43.712-04:00+1 "Still better than a useless $100k adminis...
+1 "Still better than a useless $100k administrative position in an overblown and out-of-touch school system. When it's something you like (flags?) the town should bear the cost and responsibility. But not golf - which is a healthy, outdoor activity and is well within the discretion of town to spend a bit of money on.

I have always thought your opposition started when you owned a gym, and the golf course was your competition, yes? Unfortunately this needed equipment isn't cheap but over the years makes up for the expense. Good to see the town bought the right tool. I drove one all my high school years working as a greens keeper at a country club.

Still better than a useless $100k administrative position in an overblown and out-of-touch school system.
